  • As always, Eminem simply glides through each verse of this track in an incredibly fluid manner and I’m still impressed by his abilities to deliver a vocal melody
  • After a cycle of two verses and two choruses, the track goes into a section which I can only describe as theatrical (Eminem robbing a store), and although it does indeed fit with the lyrical theme of the track, I unfortunately find it overly theatrical and really does nothing for the song
  • Nevertheless, I’ve found that Eminem does this on several tracks, Kim in particular, so I’m fairly accustomed to hearing these, although I don’t personally enjoy them because they don’t do anything to advance the song in my opinion
  • Nevertheless, despite this small section, I enjoyed everything else throughout the track and Eminem once again displays his talent for craftsmanship, performance, and delivery

Criminal is a song by Eminem which is the finishing track for his record The Marshal Mathers LP. The song opens up with a spoken word section from Eminem which is nothing impressive in itself, but I will say is a clever segue and fluid transition into the bulk of the song and the first verse.

Like a lot of Eminem’s earlier tracks, the rhythm on the song is pretty infectious and he crafts a vocal

melody which works incredibly well with the music.

Also like most of Eminem’s earlier tracks (Or most of songs throughout his career in that matter), the lyrics to the track are fairly explicit and I could see some lines being considered offensive, thought his track isn’t nearly as bad as a lot of the other songs throughout this record (Though the lyrics do become more explicit as the track goes on), so if you’re easily offended ...

      • then I would advise against this track, this album, and Eminem in general.
