  • In fact, I think if the Beatles had tried to change up the feel of the song halfway through, they would do neither half justice and only rob the song as a whole
  • In addition, I wouldn’t consider Wait to be a complex song so it also shouldn’t be a track which requires several listens to truly get a feel for it

Wait is a song by The Beatles which appears on their record Rubber Soul. The track opens up with the vocals coming first before the rest of the instrumentation coming in to join the vocals on the song.

Though a listener can certainly hear the unique sound of the Beatles like they had on their earlier albums, this new sound on Wait certainly does have a different quality about it.

Though the music itself is still nothing too complicated and

the lyrics to the track aren’t to say the level of Bob Dylan, The Beatles somehow make everything come together in a brilliant fashion which is something they did all throughout their career.

The song maintains a single mood throughout which may not be great for some listeners, but because the track is only slightly over two minutes long this doesn’t personally bother me.

In fact, I think if the Beatles had tried to change up the feel of the ...

      • song halfway through, they would do neither half justice and only rob the song as a whole.

Because of this, I should say that if you find that you aren’t enjoying the track after perhaps a verse and a chorus, then this song probably isn’t for you as it maintains its identity throughout.

In addition, I wouldn’t consider Wait to be a complex song so it also shouldn’t be a track which requires several listens to truly get a feel

        for it.

If you were a fan of The Beatles earlier albums, then I would say at least give this track (And Rubber Soul as a whole for that matter) a chance.

As I stated above, the band maintains some of the sound they had on their earlier records, but throughout Rubber Soul, and on Wait, the sound has matured both musically and lyrically and I think that without Rubber Soul, we would have never had the albums which made the Beatles great.
