  • I decided to try the product out for a couple of weeks and see if my IBS improved as some others had claimed theirs did when they used it
  • They still reacted to food intake and stress levels in the same way, and I think those two things are the master controllers of all my IBS symptoms
  • It probably did some good as a general detox, and I would recommend it for that– but I don’t think it did anything special as far as the IBS, so I would not use it again hoping for those results

      I have irritable bowel syndrome, and the symptoms have plagued me for years. I manage it pretty well with fiber, aloe vera, and careful diet, but sometimes it flares up anyway, when I am under stress or other things go awry in my body. This supplement was recommended by some other IBS patients. It is designed to help cleanse toxins from the body, detoxifying the liver and intestines and sort of “resetting” the system to work properly.

      It is a powder that can be mixed with water or other beverages and taken three times a day. It contains rice protein, pea protein, and a general list of vitamins and minerals and other substances that basically makes up the equivalent of a good multivitamin/mineral supplement. I decided to

      The product recommends mixing into vegetable or fruit juice, rice milk, or nut milk. Since I am diabetic, I have to be careful how many carbohydrates I consume daily so that I do not run up my blood sugar. The product itself has ten grams of carbs, (but three grams of fiber) and has 190 calories. This is before adding it to the beverage, of course. I chose to use almond milk, because it has very few carbohydrates or calories. It is a slightly odd taste, this powder, and I had a little trouble getting it to mix well. I ...


      • finally resorted to a stick blender, which worked great and seemed to make it more like a creamy drink.

        The almond milk has very little flavor, so in order to get this to be somewhat palatable, I added some spices and vanilla flavor, and a little Truvia to sweeten it. It ended up being much like a creamy chai drink, and it wasn’t too bad. I don’t think I would like it mixed into fruit juice very well. It has that typical taste I associate with “vitamin things.” I didn’t have any problems drinking it, and surprisingly, it did not even make me nauseous as most supplement with a lot of different vitamins do. I took it regularly for about three weeks. During that time, I had

        headaches, which I was told was because of my body ridding itself of toxins. Supposedly it is a good thing when you get headaches on a detox regimen.

        I did not really notice any marked difference in my IBS symptoms. They still reacted to food intake and stress levels in the same way, and I think those two things are the master controllers of all my IBS symptoms. Regardless of taking the supplement, I still had issues on and off, which I have accepted as normal over the years. It probably did some good as a general detox, and I would recommend it for that– but I don’t think it did anything special as far as the IBS, so I would not use it again hoping for those results.
