Having been due an upgrade from my absolutely rubbish LG Viewty KU990, I was originally going to choose a Blackberry Curve. Thankfully, I decided against it, and chose quite possible, one of the best mobile phones on the market.

The Samsung Omnia 7 starts up fast, everything flows nicely. The interface is simple to use, and easy to understand. Rather than use the typical “icon interface”, Windows Phones (such as the Omnia 7) use what is known as

Panels, which provide more information, and are a lot more colourful. However, if the user prefers the icon interface, then he or she can simply do a swipe on the touchscreen and the icon interface is there.

Another advantage of the Windows Phone is the fact that it seamlessly connects with your PC. Any PC which runs Windows XP or higher is installed with the Zune software, which is a mix between iTunes and Spotify, albeit a different ...

      • interface. A major advantage is that you get two months to get movies, games and music completely free for 2 months!

What I particularly like about it is the contacts system which it uses. It syncs up your MSN, Skype, Gmail etc. contacts with your phone contacts, and merges them together, providing a far superior way to contact people.

My only distaste with the phone is the fact that you can’t change the background. You can choose between black

or white, and the panel colours can only be a small selection, you can’t create custom colours. However, it retains the lock screen pictures.

However, nothing tops the gaming system implemented into the phone. It comes standard with XBOX Live, so if you have an Xbox 360, then the phone syncs up Xbox games that it can play, and adds them to your game section.

Overall, this phone is definitely a must-by, and a major rival to the iPhone.
