  • I bought the HBM Moisture Lift Rejuvenating Shampoo and Conditioner about six weeks ago and I have since ditched the conditioner as it is simply no good for my hair
  • I believe I got them on special offer from Tesco but normally they cost about £4 each
  • I could recommend the shampoo if you want a bargain price as it clearly is not drying and really, I do not personally notice too much difference between different brands of shampoo anyway, apart from the smell
  • It is the conditioner that I thought had a poor performance
  • So I bought an old favourite conditioner (Pantene) and my hair instantly went back into condition and looked a whole lot better

I bought the HBM Moisture Lift Rejuvenating Shampoo and Conditioner about six weeks ago and I have since ditched the conditioner as it is simply no good for my hair. I still use the shampoo which seems to be adequate enough. I was not happy with the conditioner at all as it left my hair looking like straw – dull, with no shine at all. I had intended to buy the Tresemme shampoo and conditioner which I have used before but the HBM products caught my eye as they had a similar packaging style to Tresemme and they were a lot cheaper, but it was false economy I am afraid. I do not need to be such a

skinflint and I really should have bought the brand I trusted.

Firstly, the packaging is on first sight similar to Tresemme. The shampoo and conditioner are in rather basic plastic bottles with the shampoo being black and the conditioner being white. But whereas Tresemme’s basic packaging actually looks stylish and sends the message that the product inside is of professional standard, the HBM products look like they should contain engine oil or something. Each bottle is massive, containing a litre of product. I believe I got them on special offer from Tesco but normally they cost about £4 each. This shampoo I am using will last me ages but as I threw the conditioner away I would have ...

      • been better spending more. Another thing I do not like about the packaging is that the conditioner bottle started to go out of shape every time I squeezed it to get the product out, so it kind of looked messy on my bathroom shelf. The shampoo bottle is keeping its shape though.

On the bottles it says the product is to ‘restore, hydrate, rejuvenate and nourish your hair’. All I can say is that when I was using both shampoo and conditioner my hair felt adequately soft. This shampoo does not strip my hair of its oils at all – like some cheap shampoos do. I could recommend the shampoo if you want a bargain price as it

clearly is not drying and really, I do not personally notice too much difference between different brands of shampoo anyway, apart from the smell. The smell of these HBM products is not very strong but it is pleasant enough. It is the conditioner that I thought had a poor performance. I am in my forties and my hair is pretty dry and can look frizzy but after using HBM conditioner I felt my hair looked like it had not been conditioned at all. It had absolutely no shine to it. So I bought an old favourite conditioner (Pantene) and my hair instantly went back into condition and looked a whole lot better. So the conditioner went into the bin.
