  • I do get a good bit of fiber in my diet, being that I love grains and such, but I take supplements sometimes just to get a little more, or at the very least, all that I should be getting
  • I use it often and would recommend it even though I think, if one can tolerate it, the powder is much better at getting fiber because having to take all of these pills is a bit over-kill

I do get a good bit of fiber in my diet, being that I love grains and such, but I take supplements sometimes just to get a little more, or at the very least, all that I should be getting. I have tried Metamucil in the powdered form before but did not care for it very much. It had no flavor, but it was a hassle trying to get it to dissolve and I wanted something easier to deal with. I tried the wafers as well and did not care for the flavor of them at all. I saw they had pills, and so that is what

      I started using.

These capsules are not very large but they still must be taken with a lot of water or other liquid to wash them down and into the stomach. Apparently, they can swell in the esophagus and lodge in there if not taken with a lot of liquid. I didn’t even know that could happen before taking these pills and reading the back of the package. Each one is white in color and is a capsule form and are really easy to swallow, even for me who has trouble with pills.

The fiber in these comes from psyllium husk, but it says it is 100% ...

      • natural fiber, and it’s good for lowering cholesterol as well as good for heart and digestive health. I take them several times a week. I do not take it every day simply because the dosage is so ridiculous. I have to take 5 pills a day, swallowed one by one in one sitting, and I’m only getting something like 10% of the daily value or fiber. It also has 30% DV of Calcium in it, less than 1% of Potassium, and 2% of Iron. The Iron must be the gentle formula because it doesn’t hurt my stomach at all. Iron makes me super nauseous, and
this one does not do that.

It is good though for bowel regularity, which is what most people tend to take this for. I mainly take it for heart health because heart disease is in every branch of my family tree and I want to do all I can to prevent any future problems with my own. But, it makes things work right below the naval, so it’s great for that purpose as well. I use it often and would recommend it even though I think, if one can tolerate it, the powder is much better at getting fiber because having to take all of these pills is a bit over-kill.
