Movie adaptation has been too prevalent nowadays. The film “I Am Number Four” is based from the novel of the same title by Pittacus Lore. The movie stars Alex Pettyfer as Number Four and Diana Agron of Glee as Pettyfer’s love interest in the film. The movie is directed by D.J. Caruso.

In the movie, John Smith or Number Four is chased by the Mogadorians. The latter is the race which destroyed the planet where John Smith came from.

The Mogadorians is on a quest to annihilate Number Four. John Smith has a guardian who is also his protector. These Mogadorians learn about these alien children brought to earth to escape destruction. In the movie, these tall, tattooed and bizarre looking extraterrestrial antagonist came to earth to kill in chronological order what is known as the Loriens. It was Number Four’s turn to get killed, number 2 and 3 have previously been accomplished.

While the movie was incredibly designed ...

      • with special effects and awesome graphics, for me it is bereft of any intelligent aspect. Most of the time, the scenes were like always the beginning and an unfinished ending. It had me started great but as it progressed, the movie stirs you differently. It was like a scattershot storytelling. And what is distressing is how a messy love story was injected as if it helped change the course of the plot. I hated the love story of the film,
it was like written by an amateur grade school romantic sucker. Plus Diana Agron’s dry facial expression did not help either. It was also something that caused me troubling that this start of the movie franchise did not laid out a good detail. It was like a long teaser for the sequel. It was like letting you sip of an entire bottle of a mysterious drink. It was a complete torment for me. The only thing entertaining is the supernatural powers.
