Kick-Ass is one of my favourite films to come out of the last couple of years, mainly down to how unique it is and its fascinating analysis of a wannabe superhero.

This superhero is just an ordinary teenager, and the story shows that. You get a good back story to his ordinary life and it really explains his motives, you feel a lot of hope for

      him.

I thought the plotline with the bad guys worked really well and the coming together at the end was a truly epic encounter.

The film progresses at a nice pace and doesn’t have many plot twists. Instead it stays realistic and shows the number of setbacks Kick Ass has as very true to life experiences. In the real world, you can’t just become a superhero – so what’s different about Kick Ass?

Matthew Vaughn directs the movie very well, the intensity he creates and the interaction different characters have between each other is good. But in terms of direction, a lot of the credit deserves to go to the choreographers who directed the fight scenes.

I don’t think I’ve seen better fight scenes in a film, particularly when Hit Girl and Big Daddy ...

are involved. Their attack on the warehouse is one of my favourite ever scenes.

The whole cast played their parts very well, but the standout performer for me was Chloe Moretz who played Hit Girl.

Some people might be offended that a 12-year-old girl using weapons and vulgar language has such an important role, but if you’re not then you’ll love her. The character is more

Kick Ass that anyone else in the film.

The film is also a comedy so you can expect numerous laughs throughout, even in some of the more intense scenes. The explicit nature of Hit Girl’s language alone will have you laughing out loud.

Overall, I’d recommend this film to anyone with a love for action films. But also to anyone who enjoys teenage drama, this will provide a very satisfying watch.
