I can’t think of general Douglas MacArthur without thinking of Gregory Peck and the 1977 film MacArthur is the reason. Peck plays the legendary World War II and Korea leader in

this entertaining, yet somewhat biased film. And, overall, he does a pretty good job at it. I liked this movie because, if nothing else, it displays the iconic status MacArthur has ...

      • gained in American culture. If the film were to be believed completely, he was absolutely fearless and a total genius. I think he was just really good at playing up his
accomplishments to the press; something the movie itself seems to point out with the numerous photographers that follow Peck around throughout. If you’re looking for a historical movie to watch, I would seriously recommend this one.
