The F-91W Watch is a the current model of Casio’s budget, no-nonsense classic. The timepiece costs very little; I picked mine up for just £8. 99, but have subsequently found better deals online.

The key features of the watch are an LED display, showing the time; a daily alarm and a stopwatch. That is all.

The main appeal of the watch to me is the simplicity of it, and the fact that there are no unnecessary features: no calculator, no TV remote,

no microwave – this is a watch, and a watch only. The watch is water resistant down to 30m, so should be fine for a swim in the pool or wearing whilst doing the washing up.

Day to day, the watch is reliable, and it keeps the time very well. The light is not dazzling, but fits the task of illuminating the face of the timepiece.

The watch is also something of a conversation piece. People who are familiar with its ...

Some people have reported that the watch strap is not long enough. On my wrist it is mine, but I can see that it would not be suitable for larger wrists.

Traditionally, the strap on Casios are the first things to break. However, I have had my watch for some time now, and it remains as strong and sturdy as ever.

One vice to the watch’s design is that

when pressing the button to cycle through the stopwatch/alarm function, it always beeps, and there is no way to stop this. There is also no way to make the watch beep on the hour.

This is not a feature that I would use, but others may. Stylistically, the watch is perfect.

Nothing could be more in fashion than a watch that is long out of fashion. The simplicity and retro look make this the watch of the moment which encapsulates history on your wrist.

There is a way to make it beep every hour. Just go to the alarm mode and press the right button twice. Then press the left button to return to timekeeping mode. You`ll notice a tiny bell sign to the left of day.
