This book will be a treat to all fantasy fans and especially dragon fans. It is a coming of age story, and the main character is a young dragon named Auron.

He happily lives in a cave with his father, mother, and littermates, but the happiness

is short-lived: one day, when the father is gone, evil dwarfs attack the family.

Little dragons are unable to defend themselves, they cannot yet breathe fire or fly.

The dwarfs kill Auron’s mother and sister; Auron saves the other sister by using himself as a bait ...

      • to distract the attackers.

The dwarfs capture him and take him away.

Now Auron must learn to live on his own, in a world that is mostly hostile to dragons.

        The story is well told.

I like the fact that it is told from a dragon’s

perspective, it makes it unusual and more interesting.

The fantasy world is fun to explore; there are some other species except dwarfs and elves, so the author is not just borrowing from Tolkien.

I believe both kids and adults will find something to enjoy in this book.
