The 2003 film “Mona Lisa Smile” is an elegant masterpeice that portrays Julia Roberts in a role that was pretty much made for her. It brings woman’s rights and the power that they have to another new level, while also showing the contraversy of how woman were supposed to be stay at home mother’s and good wives. The film was empowering, very much so for woman especially since that is what the movie

      revolves around.

In this film, Julia Roberts plays an all girl college art professor, Katherine. her class at first, but begin to broaden their minds and their images of what woman should be perceived as, touching the hearts of her class and making an impact on the rest of their lives.

I found this film to be heartwarming and inspiring. To see that woman were once only thought of as house wives and mothers, nothing more, is enlightening since that is far from where we are now. Watching

Katherine’s class blossom and grow as young woman, and overcome obsticles in life, made for a wonderful plot and amazing character development. The group of women that were gathered in order to bring together this movie could not have been better and created a masterpeice.

Whether you are a fan of Julia Roberts, or a women empowerment, or just want to watch a movie that has depth and meaning, this movie is definitley one for the ages.
