  • When you first put it in your nose or along the outside skin if I it is an external problem, you may feel a bit of stinging if the skin is very irritated and sore
  • Because it is used on the inside of your nostril, if you are having an issue with dryness (I often get a very dry nose when recovering from a cold or sinus infection) it will help to soothe that as well
  • Although this product is a little harder to find than it used to be, and does cost a bit more than Vicks, it is much more useful in very specific ways
  • I would not recommend this as a replacement for Vicks that you are using as a chest rub or for vaporizers, because this product is not quite strong enough for that

When I was suffering a miserable cold one time, my very kind and thoughtful mother bought me a tube of Nose Better. I have used Vicks in the past for a chest rub, or to inhale, but because it is petroleum based, you are not supposed to put it inside your nostrils. (I know people who do it all the time, but you are not supposed to! Shame on you!) This gel, however, is different.

It is not petroleum based– it is not even oil based. It is a gentle, cooling gel that can be put right inside the nostril to soothe the skin and help heal

your sore nose while providing some good aroma therapy and vapor action for your sinuses.

The active ingredients in here are comfrey, camphor, menthol, and eucalyptus with lanolin and vitamin E for healing and protecting the skin. When you have a sore nose, this is a blessed relief.

When you first put it in your nose or along the outside skin if I it is an external problem, you may feel a bit of stinging if the skin is very irritated and sore. This will soon stop, so hang in there.

Once it does stop, relief will begin, and your nose will heal up faster and feel better ...

      • soon. You won’t have grease all over your face, and you are not as likely to end up accidentally rubbing this in your eye.

If it gets onto the sheets it will not leave a greasy stain. It won’t clog your pores, it won’t be obvious to other people that something is in or on your nose.

If you use it several days in a row, it will heal up your ruby red nose and make you look human again. Because it is used on the inside of your nostril, if you are having an issue with dryness (I often get a very dry nose when

recovering from a cold or sinus infection) it will help to soothe that as well.

Although this product is a little harder to find than it used to be, and does cost a bit more than Vicks, it is much more useful in very specific ways. I would not recommend this as a replacement for Vicks that you are using as a chest rub or for vaporizers, because this product is not quite strong enough for that.

If it were, you wouldn’t be wanting it inside your nose. I highly recommend this for sore, flaky, miserable noses that are ready to get better.
