  • I have read reviews where people have called this movie boring, but I want to know where at
  • I thought it was well paced, well done, and certainly an improvement over Prince Caspian, which although I t was slow at points
  • Yes, it wasn’t a good as The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe, perhaps the best movie in the series thus far and certainly to most true adaptation of to books as well
  • But word of warning if you are a die hard fan of the books written by CS Lewis, don’t watch this movie expecting a true adaptation you will only be disappointed in what you will actually see

I will admit out loud that when it come to the Chronicle of Narnia Books written by CS Lewis, I have only read one of them. That would book would be the first one written The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. However, I have now seen all three movies based on the books, and have enjoyed all of them. Looking at this now I have to wonder if maybe the fact that I only read only one of the books is the reason for this. After all having not read Prince Caspian, I couldn’t complain about the amount of liberties taken with the story and from what I heard there were a lot that ticked off a whole lot of die hard Narnia fans. Now having seen the third installment The Voyage of the Dawn Threader, I once again enjoyed the movie immensely. Only to find out once again after

the fact that liberties were taken with the story.

Apparently in the book there is no real quest, Caspian; again played by Ben Barns, is on a journey to find the lost Lords of Narnia, but there isn’t a real threat no real reason for the ultimate journey. The book is just about visiting the Islands such as the one where they encounter the Dufflepudds a race of invisible beings that long to be visible again. In the movie however, there is a quest involved, a green mist is threatening to destroy Narnia. Its up to the crew of The Dawn Threader to find the seven swords of the Lords of Narnia then place them on Aslan’s table on the Island of Ramandu to put an end to this threat.

Back for these movies are Skander Keynes as Edmund Prevensie, and Georgie Henley as Lucy Prevensie, who appeared in the last two movies.

      • Along with the for this journey is their nasty cousin Eustace; played by Will Pouter, who learns a valuable lesson after being transformed into a dragon on one of the islands.

I have read reviews where people have called this movie boring, but I want to know where at. I thought it was well paced, well done, and certainly an improvement over Prince Caspian, which although I t was slow at points. Yes, it wasn’t a good as The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe, perhaps the best movie in the series thus far and certainly to most true adaptation of to books as well. As for the complaints that The Voyage of the Dawn Threader isn’t true to the book, not all books adapt well to film. As stated above there was no real quest in the book, in a movie you need a quest you need an obstacle

to over come, other wise the audience might wonder why they were wasting their time. This is obviously a much-needed change for Voyage of the Dawn Threader to have to make the movie a true movie experience. I will admit that I am not sure how I feel about the White Witch once again making an appearance, don’t get me wrong a great character, but movie wise, has been a bit over done. Especially when you stop to consider that the movie trailers actually made this out to be yet another battle between her and Aslan, which it wasn’t, not all.

I do recommend The Voyage of the Dawn Threader to anyone who loves adventure films. But word of warning if you are a die hard fan of the books written by CS Lewis, don’t watch this movie expecting a true adaptation you will only be disappointed in what you will actually see.
