  • The Flaming Lips manage to do a good job of a melodic vocal delivery, yet a less melodic musical performance throughout this track which creates a nice balance in my opinion
  • What always struck me as interesting about the Flaming Lips is that judging by their first few albums, I never would’ve expected them to develop the sound that they currently hold and have had throughout their past few records
  • Beginning as more of a punk band, the Flaming Lips have now become one of the more relevant psychedelic bands in the current time and Transmissions From The Satellite Heart, the album this track appears on, was certainly one of the first Flaming Lips albums which I really enjoyed, unlike their first few unfortunately
  • Overall, it may not be as great as some of the other songs by this band, but I’d certainly recommend it to a person already familiar with this band or trying to get into them for the first time

Oh, My Pregnant Head is a song by The Flaming Lips which appears on their album Transmissions From The Satellite Heart. Opening up in a very melodic fashion, the vocals don’t take very long to kick in with the rest of the band.

What I particularly like about this track thus far is that while the vocals on the track are quite melodic, the actual music behind them isn’t particularly melodic; The Flaming Lips manage to do

a good job of a melodic vocal delivery, yet a less melodic musical performance throughout this track which creates a nice balance in my opinion.

One small flaw about this track is that it really does pick up towards the end of this track, but when this does happen the track ends pretty quickly after that so I wish that the

Flaming Lips could’ve had this build-up more towards the middle so there’d be more time for a listener to enjoy it.

Nevertheless, the track has very solid songwriting behind it and is a very accessible song to listen to in my opinion.

Overall, it may not be as great as some of the other songs by this band, but I’d certainly recommend it to a person already familiar with this band or trying to get into them for the first time.
