  • I think the best part of this movie for me was all the people working in the background of the train company trying to stop the train from causing real damage
  • And, while it might seem simple, having a spot on the train track where the train will definitely derail if not stopped (after all, it is a train and there would be no guarantee it would do any harm at all without something like that), does make the movie more interesting

Synopsis: Two train company employees must chase down a runaway locomotive and stop it or slow it down before it derails; spilling the toxic chemicals that it is carrying with it. What I liked about this movie: I think the best part of this movie for me was all the people working in the background of the train company trying to stop the train from causing real damage.

You have everyone from employees who are willing to risk their lives to stop the train to executives who

are more concerned about what kind of lawsuits they might be facing if the train derails in a populated area.

And, while it might seem simple, having a spot on the train track where the train will definitely derail if not stopped (after all, it is a train and there would be no guarantee it would do any harm at all without something like that), does make the movie more interesting.

Based on where the train is, you can get a sense of whether or not to ...

      • be concerned.

What I didn’t like about this movie: Denzel Washington is the star of the movie yet, until the last half hour or so of it, he really doesn’t do much at all.

I think some of the lesser characters do much more.

Also, I think the people in this movie went out of their way to make potential danger worse before they made an effort to stop it.

The second that train got away unmanned, I would have been chasing it down in a car.

Instead, everyone stood around waiting for orders.

And, I am very confused about why they couldn’t simply flip a few switches and re-route the train rather than just let it run on the main track.

They could do it for every other train that was in its way and it would seem to make some sense to do that.

My Final Opinion: The movie was OK.

But, it could have been much better if they would have added a bit more action to it and Washington would have been much more involved.
