  • Having just moved into a new place, my boyfriend and I decided to splurge and buy a new and bigger television for our new and bigger apartment
  • It is extremely thin and flat, which really impressed us old fogey types, we were glad to have something so great looking as part of our living room
  • The remote is a bit large and clunky, however it is definitely tolerable
  • However, much like with the LCD television we immediately noticed that something was wrong with the screen and/or the lighting
  • I believe I am switching to LG for all my television needs from now on

Having just moved into a new place, my boyfriend and I decided to splurge and buy a new and bigger television for our new and bigger apartment. We spent years with a 22 inch screen and were completely fine with being that we are not exactly wealthy and also are not huge television watchers, however the tiny screen looked very silly and not at all fitting in our much larger living room, so for the sake of aesthetics we decided to upgrade. Initially we purchased an extremely well priced 32 inch Samsung LCD Television, but upon thinking it over and noticing some slight light issues with the screen, we changed our minds and returned it only to purchase a better quality,

LED Samsung of the same size. The price was only slightly higher but the quality was supposed to be significantly more impressive.

We were excited to get it home and test it out as soon as possible. Out of the box the television was truly a beauty. It is extremely thin and flat, which really impressed us old fogey types, we were glad to have something so great looking as part of our living room. The design of the television aside from the thinness was all around winning, it has beautiful touch screen “buttons” to perform all of its necessary functions, a thin pane of glass surrounds the screen and extends slightly beyond it, creating a very cool, futuristic effect. • remote is a bit large and clunky, however it is definitely tolerable. All the menus were beautiful and seamlessly integrated into whatever program you are watching, which really impressed me in both the LED and LCD televisions.

However, much like with the LCD television we immediately noticed that something was wrong with the screen and/or the lighting. One side of the screen was noticeably brighter than the other. Although this did not distort the picture or worsen the quality of the television, when there were not many colors seen on the screen, you could definitely make out a bright line at the right hand corner. When paying this much money for something you do not want to get home and realize

that it is less than perfect, and although this is seemingly a small issue, it is not when you spend a good chunk of change that means something to you on it. Upon looking at the television from the top, we could actually notice that the glass had somehow separated or was placed unevenly on one side of the television. As this is the second Samsung model television that we have purchased that had a similar screen lighting issue, I am beginning to thing that perhaps this well known brand is not all it’s cracked up to be. I believe I am switching to LG for all my television needs from now on. Samsung makes beautiful televisions, however the quality is not as impressive
