I am not really a makeup person and so I don’t really like investing in expensive makeup. So whenever I find cheap eyeshadows, I buy them to test them out to see if they are any good and can replace expensive makeup. I recently saw many of these cosmetics palettes at my local H&M and this particular palette was on sale for only $2. I heard some of my friends say they thought H&M makeup was pretty good and a bang for their buck, so I decided to check it out myself to see if its true. Plus, the cheap pricetag would mean I wouldn’t lose too much money and there was quite a selection of colours available on this palette. So I

      decided to buy it.

This palette comes in 10 glitter eyeshadow shades. They are aqua green, turquoise, glittery black, silver, pearly white, golden, glittery brown, light pink, magenta and a duo-chrome pink green. From the surface, they all look extremely glittery and quite appealing. On first pigmentation test, that is, just touching the surface of the eyeshadows slightly with a finger, some of the darker colours, such as the black, brown and magenta, appeared to have very solid opaque pigmentation. The rest of the lighter colours did not produce very good pigmentation results, but they were all very pretty jewel-like colours nonetheless.

But the good points about this palette ends right here. Below the surface, these eyeshadows were not glittery at all. They had ...

      • a slight shimmer to them, but that’s it, it was very slight and almost not noticeable. These eyeshadows are very hard to blend also, making them not very good for application on my eye lids as I didn’t want to have to tug and pull at the sensitive eye area to make these shadows work. Even with a primer they were not very good.

I would actually not recommend these eyeshadows to anyone as I think it is kind of a health hazard. Whenever I used this eyeshadow, I notice that some of the eyeshadow particles, whether it is glitter or whatever, kept landing in my eye. The particles are quite chunky too and that made my eye feel a lot of discomfort

and I teared up sometimes too as it felt very bad. I will never use this eyeshadow again and will use it for other purposes not intended for makeup after this, such as painting projects and whatnot. I heard from someone that using chunky glittery eyeshadows can scrape the cornea of the eyes and make it a dangerous situation as surgery would be required after that for the eyes to be normal again. I’d rather not risk that and keep my eyes safe from bad eyeshadows. Therefore, these eyeshadows are only very pretty but pose a health hazard due to its bad quality. Even if its cheap, I would not buy this again and ask others not buy it either is they care for their eyes.
