The 2010 film “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” was one in which I was leery about. Recently Nicholas Cage’s films have been sort of a letdown, but not this one. His co-star Jay Baruchel has a quirky sort of scholarly charm that makes him the perfect hero of our film. We watch as his character becomes a man and steps into his true destiny, proving that the average person can do big things if they just believe in themselves.

      There is

no doubt that this film is fun for all age groups and makes for a wonderful family movie night. The plot of the film alone is appealing to a wide variety of audiences, and is appropriate for young children because it is not gory or explicit. Audiences will truly love to follow the main character, Dave, step into his powers after centuries worth of evil stored in a doll is released into the world, and only he can ...

      • stop the main evil force.

Many people I fell can relate to Dave. He is a simple, average guy, who is love science. He has had a crush on a girl for most of his life, and when he finally meets her years after they went to fourth grade together, the feelings are still there. He takes a chance on love, becomes discouraged about is powers, and finally comes into his own when he needs to step up

and be a hero. It’s a classic tale of the average person finding out that they are more than what they appear and see themselves as.

If you are in the mood for magic, romance, comedy and a story that can truly inspire, then I would recommend this film the next time you’re in search for a fun filled movie. Nicolas Cage really did a good job in this film and his character is one to be admired. Wait to go!
