  • I have thinning hair, and when I was looking for some options for different hairstyles, I noticed that this product seemed to make thinner, even slightly shorter hair look like it was very think and voluminous in the pictures where it was put up into a bun
  • I had never used a bun style before, but I thought it might be fun and it looked easy to use so I bought one
  • My hair is frizzy at the ends, and it not only had a few unsightly fly-aways that poked out when I moved my hair around, but pieces of my hair caught against the foam and I think I ended up pulling and breaking some of it
  • I would recommend it for those with thin hair or anyone who would like a nice full looking bun but doesn’t have the hair volume to accomplish it on their own

I have thinning hair, and when I was looking for some options for different hairstyles, I noticed that this product seemed to make thinner, even slightly shorter hair look like it was very think and voluminous in the pictures where it was put up into a bun. I had never used a bun style before, but I thought it might be fun and it looked easy to use so I bought one. I gathered my hair, full of as much volumizing product as I could fit into it,

into a ponytail high on my head and pulled it through the clip as directed, then adjusted it to the lower last inch of the ends of my hair.

I twisted it tight on the ends, rolled the hair upwards, and secured it at the bottom just like the diagram showed me to do. It was supposed to form an easy, perfect roll of hair which I could then spread out over the rest of the sponge and pin into place for an instant perfect bun.

I had a little more trouble than anticipated getting the hair to move around smoothly to form the lower half of the bun. My hair is frizzy at the ends, and it not only had a few unsightly fly-aways that poked out when I moved my hair around, but pieces of my hair caught against the foam and I think I ended up pulling and breaking some of it.

This is not what you want to do with already thinning hair. You want to keep as much as possible on your head!

Finally I got it into a decent looking shape and used a few pins to keep it there, with some hair spray to help calm the loose ends.

It actually did look pretty nice and over all it was simple to use. I suspect those with healthier hair than I have would find it much easier to use.

The next time I wore the clip I did several things differently. Instead of my volumizing mousse, I used a conditioner that contained some silicone, which really helped keep the frizzy

ends from going wild when I tried to position the hair around the bun clip.

I also kept the rolling a lot looser than before, and that seemed to help stop the pulling that I experienced the first time. I think this is a cute little tool that makes a bun style pretty easy and looks really nice.

I would recommend it for those with thin hair or anyone who would like a nice full looking bun but doesn’t have the hair volume to accomplish it on their own.
