This is a review of the Barnes and Noble Nook eBook reader

This is a perfect example of a device that tries to do too much and makes it very difficult and a pain to use.

The primary reason somebody would use a eBook reader is to read eBooks, not to surf the net or listen to music. Sure these features are great, but they take away from the device’s main purpose which really has lead to the fact on how unpopular these

      devices are.

For the people who actually buy it for the web browser, you will be extremely disappointed.

The user interface is absolutely horrible and even when very close to a WiFi access point, pages take quite long to load. Also, the nook’s only way to navigate around a webpage is by the tiny little touchscreen below the display screen. the actual display screen is not in color and is difficult to see during the day and impossible to see at all during the night.

Also, what were they thinking putting a music player in it It makes absolutely no sense. It is like putting a eBook reader on a cell phone with a tiny screen or a mp3 player with a tiny screen. It is terribly impractical and just simply out of place.

I purchased this device when they first came out and returned it shortly afterwards. It was a waste of time and a waste of money. It is not even a good eBook reader,

the electronic ink screen terribly impractical. Usually I read during night and this device made it absolutely impossible for me to read books because not only is the screen not color but its not back light. what the heck is up with that?

I cannot imagine what the manufacturers were thinking when they gave this device a non color screen..

There are new models of the Nook out aswell. One of these devices is the nook 3G which is exactly like the nook

wifi but it has a 3G connection and costs $199.00 instead of $149.00

Also, the nook color was just released a short while ago. this device has many impractical features, including a watered down web browser and a crummy touchscreen.

If you are at all considering getting this device because of its low price of $149.00 , look elsewhere

Steer clear from any Barnes and Noble Nook devices, they are a waste of time and money.

You will be very disappointed if you purchase this device, hands down.
