  • I do agree that this product does control the amount of shine on my cheeks, but it does so to the extreme
  • I would recommend this as a product maybe for a younger girl just starting out with makeup who wants something cheap to try out and play around with, but for someone who wants more professional looking makeup, I would suggest staying away from this blush

I love blush products. I have more blush products than any one girl should have and I am always on the lookout for more. I recently purchased the Max Factor Color Genius Mineral Blush. One tin of this product is only three dollars which is an absolute steal! The primary reason why I settled on this particular blush was the fact that it is a mineral makeup and also that it supposedly has a “shine control formula.” The part of my face that tends to get oily and

shiny first is my cheeks so I really do need blush products that help to control shine rather than add to it.

With drugstore products, it really does seem that you get what you paid for. There are some aspects of this product that are cheaper. Other aspects are actually pretty nice. I hate the brush that comes with the Max Factor Color Genius Mineral Blush. It is way too rough and irritating on the skin. I only used it once before realizing that it was completely worthless and should just be thrown out. I guess this is okay since I have my own set of brushes. I also do not like the consistency of the product. It is so powdery that it dries out my skin. I do agree that this product does control the amount of shine on my cheeks, but it does so to the extreme. Instead of oily skin, my cheeks get really dry. What I do like about this product is the color tones in the palette and the way they mix.

The product is pretty easy to use. All I have to do is swirl my brush through the palette to mix the colors and then blend it into the skin. Though I am not a huge fan of the colors, they are pretty enough to create a nice, natural look. They are not as well pigmented as I would like them to be, but I also do realize that this is a three dollar drugstore brand blush product. I would recommend this as a product maybe for a
younger girl just starting out with makeup who wants something cheap to try out and play around with, but for someone who wants more professional looking makeup, I would suggest staying away from this blush.

Overall, I have to give the Max Factor Color Genius Mineral Blush a rating of a 6 out of 10. The brush is terrible and the product is drying. The colors in the palette are pretty and easy to use, but to be quite honest, this is not a good product for someone who is serious about makeup.

My friend’s daughter loves this makeup - so I agree that it is great for a younger crowed, however anyone can use it
