The first time I heard the song “City on Our Knees” by Toby Mac it was on the ending scenes from the movie “Grace Card”. Not only does the song bring to light some deep emotions that everyone feels when listening to a song that is meaningful to them, but it was melodic and beautifully put together. I would suggest this song to anyone who has a passion or soft spot for Christian music, soft tones, or who

just enjoys songs that have meaning behind the words and beauty in ever passing verse.

The artists voice is unique, where he goes into different tones. For instance, he starts off soft, and then his voice gets powerful and strong. No doubt he is talented, and very committed to what he is doing. Listeners of different music can hear in the verse, in the assembly of the piece, and in the presentation. No where did this song hear as ...

      • though it was created sloppily just to bring an artist further in their career. This song was made to make a difference.

The words of the song are very inspirational and tell a story almost. Not preaching, but encouraging the world to come together and lead the way in order for the next generation to come together as one. No matter who you are, what race, beliefs you hold, or social status, that we are all the same deep

down and we are all needed in order to make a difference. He talks of “a city on our knees” almost as though the city is on it’s knees praying for it’s people to come together and make a change for the better.

This song has the capability to make a big difference, if only it was as simple to change things by simply singing a song. But, as the song says, “if you gotta start somewhere why not here?”.
