The Feed Bag is a local Seattle owned and operated “pet provisions” shop located off of Pike on Capitol Hill. It’s a small shop, but loaded with goods from top to bottom. Because it is locally owned and operated, the staff are few and friendly to the regulars who are in the shop on a regular weekly or bi-weekly basis, such as myself. I’ve never had a single poor experience with the staff here, they are always friendly and as helpful as possible. I’ve even

had the employees offer to order items that were not in stock for me for future use! You can’t ask for that kind of service at large chain retailers.

Seattle is clearly a dog city, pet-friendly in general, but extremely friendly toward dogs and their owners. The Feed Bag is no different. The shop is loaded with dog supplies, and running a close second is cat supplies. They’ve got toys and treats galore, not to mention a while selection of dog and cat foods ...

      • covering two separate walls. Unfortunately, the selection for small animals isn’t as great, despite the shop having resident small animals as pets. This would be more frustrating than it is were there other shops available that carried small pet supplies, however, this simply isn’t the case. One of the things that makes the Feed Bag so great is the fact that they are the only store around the Capitol Hill-Downtown area that carries small pet provisions of any kind. For this reason, shoppers at the
Feed Bag also deal with the fact that the pet supplies there are a little more expensive than what you would pay at your local Petsmart or Petco. However, for the convenience of having the shop in the neighborhood, and to support local business, the Feed Bag does well.

While the Feed Bag does have several flaws, they are easily and quickly looked over due to the many upsides. The friendly and helpful staff, the convenience in location, and the local ownership all make up for its flaws tenfold.
