  • To begin, as with many of the songs on this record, You has a very grunge sound to it, in my opinion at least, which makes it a track which may be decent in its own regard, but now truly a good representation of what Radiohead truly sounds like
  • To be very simple with a recommendation, if you’re a fan of a 1990s grunge sound, or you enjoyed the rest of Pablo Honey, then I really see no reason why you would also not enjoy this particular fact

You is the opening track of Radiohead’s debut album, Pablo Honey. To begin, as with many of the songs on this record, You has a very grunge sound to it, in my opinion at least, which makes it a track which may be decent in its own regard, but now truly a good representation of what Radiohead truly sounds like.

The track opens up with a clean guitar part before transitioning into a distorted

rhythm which simply embodies the grunge sound to me.

Thom Yorke comes in with a gentle vocal delivery which sounds fitting to the music, although not as good as he sings on later Radiohead records.

Though the structure of the song may be predictable and even dry, I will admit that You certainly has a good amount of energy to it, particularly towards the middle of the track where Yorke really lets loose with ...

      • his vocal delivery and you can tell that he isn’t holding anything back.

Like the rest of Pablo Honey, You has a very good sense of youthful energy, which would make sense considering the fact that this is from Radiohead’s debut album and they were still fairly young kids while releasing it.

To be very simple with a recommendation, if you’re a fan of a 1990s grunge sound, or you enjoyed the rest of

Pablo Honey, then I really see no reason why you would also not enjoy this particular fact.

In fact, I personally think You is one of the better songs from Pablo Honey and certainly one of the more accessible ones as well.

Though You does not compare to the maturity of songwriting skills that Radiohead would later develop and cultivate on later albums, it’s a good song in its own respect and is certainly worth listening to.
