  • Malakian opens the track with an interesting riff which focuses on the use of natural harmonics before going into a traditional System Of A Down rhythm which is characterized by a heavy rhythm and aggressive drive
  • In my opinion, it seems to be that metal bands either really focus on the heavy factor to their music or the speed factor, but System Of A Down manages to have both aspects pretty well balanced on this track
  • The problems I have with Suite-Pee is that the faster parts of the song seem to go by without too much happening and this slower section seems to go by with just boring parts unfortunately

Suite-Pee is a song by System Of A Down which appears on their self-titled debut record. Malakian opens the track with an interesting riff which focuses on the use of natural harmonics before going into a traditional System Of A Down rhythm which is characterized by a heavy rhythm and aggressive drive.

Tankian comes in with the first verse with a fairly fast vocal melody which matches Malakian’s aggressive riff.

      What’s interesting about the first

part of this song is that it manages to have an extremely heavy feel to it, but it also goes by very quickly.

In my opinion, it seems to be that metal bands either really focus on the heavy factor to their music or the speed factor, but System Of A Down manages to have both aspects pretty well balanced on this track.

About halfway through the track, the band really slows down the tempo ...

      • and goes into a bridge section which I don’t particularly enjoy, but is fairly decent I suppose.

The problems I have with Suite-Pee is that the faster parts of the song seem to go by without too much happening and this slower section seems to go by with just boring parts unfortunately.

I will admit that as the song progresses to its end it does manage to pick up due to Tankian’s increased energy in

his vocal performance, but this isn’t enough to truly salvage the song.

If you’re a fan of the sound that System Of A Down had throughout their entire debut record, Suite-Pee would certainly be at least worth listening to, but it doesn’t strike me as one of the songs that stands out on that record.

Malakian has some interesting guitar riffs throughout the song, but the overall songwriting on this track strikes me as average at best.
