  • I love buying these little six ounce cans of tomato paste from my local Pick N Save
  • They are almost always in stock and I know it is a brand I can rely on
  • The problem is that soy goes under so many different names and that it can be found in about ninety-five percent of food products in American grocery stores and major supermarkets
  • The store has many brands of tomato paste, but this one is the best buy
  • The ones I bought this December won’t expire until October of 2012 so I have over a year to eat them all

I love buying these little six ounce cans of tomato paste from my local Pick N Save. They are almost always in stock and I know it is a brand I can rely on. With this soy allergy I have, I have to be extremely careful what I buy. The problem is that soy goes under so many different names and that it can be found in about ninety-five percent of food products in American grocery stores and major supermarkets. And that can make it very hard to find safe food to eat. This tomato paste is a safe food as it only contains one ingredient: tomatoes. The fewer the ingredients,

the safer a product is to eat. Besides, a ton of chemicals and preservatives in food really isn’t good to eat anyway.

I also like to buy these because they are a good value. I try to buy them when they are on sale two for $1, as that makes them very economical. When they are that price, I grab a lot of cans and stock up. And the more money I save while buying these cans, the greater number of other groceries I can buy. The store has many brands of tomato paste, but this one is the best buy. Not only is it the lowest price while on sale, it ...

      • is also the only one that contains a single ingredient. All of the other tomato paste cans contain other stuff besides tomatoes.

Tomato paste is very versatile and can be used for a variety of recipes, so I can do a lot of stuff with these cans. I can make soup, spaghetti sauce, and pizza sauce to name a few. You could make just about any tomato based sauce using this paste by adding spices. A lot of people these days prefer making their own from scratch to avoid all of the nasty junk that food companies add to pre-made sauces. Who wants to eat some unknown chemical with a thirty-letter

name that you can’t even pronounce? Not me!

These cans also store very well. I keep mine inside of a box, so they take very little room. They stack up nicely. And the clearly stamped expiration date on the cans is great, too. The ones I bought this December won’t expire until October of 2012 so I have over a year to eat them all. I am sure they will be gone long before that.

The paste is thick in the can and the cans are well filled as well. All in all, I get my money’s worth and I am very satisfied with this product.

        I rate these a full “10”.
