For those of you that you were born too late (like me), Clash of the Titans is a film appeared in 1981, which used some sort of an animation for special effects. But in this review we won’t talk about that movie. We will be talking about the remake.

Let us see what it has in addition, well a budget

of eight times bigger, $125 million almost 30 years of evolution of computer generated graphics hence the-art CG special effects a gimmick (sorry, feature) of modern cinema namely the 3D presentation and not least a cast with many familiar names. So what went so wrong?

The story is similar to that of the original (which in turn was inspired by the myth of Perseus): something about the son of Zeus (a half-mortal man, half god) raised by a fisherman.

When his adoptive family is killed (collateral damage) by Hades, Perseus, swears revenge. The differences from the original are not so big notably the following: instead of Io (which is not even in the original), Andromeda became love interest for Perseus.

I missed Bubo the most charismatic character from the original. Despite minor differences the story is boring, although the original was ok.

Why is that you may ask. Because it is important how it is presented and the presentation is weak in the remake.

Actors’ performance is below expectations. Sam Worthington was maybe at its worst and Gemma Arterton plays

well, but not in this movie.

I thought that Gemma was inopportune for the role of warrior. Liam Neeson is a very good actor, but has very little screen time.

Ralph Fiennes in the role of Hades play pretty well but nothing extraordinary. Alexa Davalos (Andromeda) appears in the movie about 2-3 times, just enough to pass her hand through her hair and look nice in the room.
