I purchased the Nokia X2 about 4 months ago through an online retailer for $120. There where other phones I could have taken but the X2’s old-fashioned appearance attracted me, not to mention the 5 megapixels camera. This is a phone that is very smooth and comfortable to hold. The design is very flat with keypad buttons that are level to the phone’s surface. Making calls on the X2 is nice because you can clearly hear the person on the other side.

      Navigating through it’s Symbian S40 user-interface is

not very difficult, although it would have been easier if the main menu wasn’t so cramped with all it’s icons. The texting process is okay but sometimes a person gets to press the wrong keys. This happens because the keys are flush to the surface which makes it easy for your fingers to press neighboring keys.

The X2 is actually a music phone sporting a very decent music player. It supports a wide array of audio file formats that range from Mp3 to Wma. Browsing through the playlists,

      • artists and albums is also very easy. On its side there are 3 music buttons (Fwd, Play/Stop and Rewind/Back) which is quite nice to use if you don’t feel like looking on the phone’s screen while browsing through your tracks. You can also download songs from iTunes which is great. You do however need to first get a microSD card to take advantage of this feature because the phone’s internal memory is only 48 Mb.

The best thing about the X2 is its 5 megapixels camera. Shots taken

with this camera is so clear that it comes out looking great even when the light is bad. You can also turn on the LED flash when it gets a bit too dark. The only complaint I have about this phone is its lack of a 3G internet connection. I browse the web daily and using a GPRS connection is just too slow and frustrating for me. I would have given the Nokia X2 full marks if it wasn’t for this inconvenience. I do however give it an overall 8/10.
