Not new, but very competet CRT monitor from LG, 700E is SXGA monitor with 17 inches display. Its maximum resolution is 1280×1024 mm at frequency of 65 to 85 hz.

      It shows true colors and

      very large fonts.

This monitor ensures all round health and safety by minimizing the emissions.

I have been with this monitor for around a year and I can say that its performance is more ...

      • than ok.

It never created any problems for me when ever I work on it.

The best thing is that it comes with 3 years on-site warranty- It means you don’t need to worry

about for the next 3 years.

However in my view, You will never go for any repair.

This is a much reliable product.

After all, LG is a largest selling monitor brand in India.

First, I suggest checking to make sure that the video cable is plugged in tightly. If there’s a loose connection, the video is distributed unevenly which could cause noise. However, this tends to happen when CRT monitors are starting to reach the end of there usage. There isn’t anything that can be done to repair a CRT monitor by a regular user, so you will likely have to replace it soon.

How to open the monitor? ie, How to remove the back cover of the monitor to service internally? Can i have a pictorial explanation?

    ReviewStream.com
    Jules Li says :

This type of information would not be provided online by LG. Once the monitor fails, it’s recommended that you get a replacement. The inside of the monitor doesn’t have many parts that are service-able by the average user.

It is not possible to give you pictorial explanation of opening the back cover of this monitor.

Just see the back panel of the monitor. You will find four screws. Your are required to open it through these four screws. Further, if you don’t have technical expertise in handling the intricacies of internal system of a monitor, then better you don’t try it.

    Jules Li says :

LG does not supply an explanation on how to remove the cover, because it’s not recommended. There are very few parts inside of the monitor that can be repaired by an average user. However, the screws are located on the back of the monitor in the corners. With that being said, if you have a defective monitor, I would suggest getting a replacement.

my lg monitor screen 700E color has been changed automatically. it is not a virus show darkness. solve my problem.

I assume you’ve tried adjusting the brightness using the buttons, if you have not you should give it a try. You can run the monitor self test to see if it’s a problem with the monitor or if it’s an issue with the video card or software. Unplug the monitor’s video cable and power cable. Plug the power cable back in. The bouncing box should be displayed. If the screen is dark on the bouncing box, it means that the monitor is defective. I would suggest getting it replaced if it’s under warranty.

It could be an issue with the monitor, or it could be your video card. The first thing that I would suggest is to run a test on the monitor. It’s called the monitor self test. Unplug the monitor’s power cable and the video cable from the back of the computer. Plug the power cable back in and you should see a bouncing box. See if the brightness adjusts automatically here. If it does, the monitor will have to be replaced. If it doesn’t happen, I would suggest re-installing your video card.

I have taken a new LG 700 E monitor 2 days back. Everything was fine. today evening suddenly the monitor wne toff and the power indicator is flickiring continously. I am unable to switch of the monitor also.

    Jules Li says :

It sounds like you’re saying it’s not powering on or showing anything. I suggest testing the monitor by doing the self test. Unplug the video cable and the power cable. Start by plugging the video cable back in. The monitor should power on and display a bouncing box. If it doesn’t the monitor is defective and has to be replaced.

Whenever the monitor isn’t working, it’s always useful to run a self test. This helps to find out what’s causing the problem. Unplug the power cable and the video cable from the back of the computer. Plug the power cable back in. If there’s a bouncing box on the screen, the monitor is fine. But, if you don’t see anything the monitor is defective.

    Jules Li says :

The best thing to do is to run the monitor self test. This will determine if there’s a problem with the monitor. In which case, the monitor would need replacing. Unplug the monitor from the outlet, and unplug the video cable from the computer as well. Plug the power cable back in. Wait for a moment and you should see a bouncing box. See if the problem happens here. If it does the monitor is damaged.

if you go to start, control panel, display, and then change the screen resolution to 1024 by 768 it should go back to normal, that’s the default setting, if its still not ok try changing the resolution to be higher or lower till it fits perfectly in screen

The monitor has it’s on control interface, separate from the computer, which means there’s no alternative to adjusting the brightness besides using the buttons.
