  • The thing i really enjoyed about this game though which is different from the others is that in this instance the balls are actually small birds with pirate hats and eye patches and you actually fire them toward the target in a bit of catapult style
  • A good value action puzzle game that i am happy to recommend to anybody that has enjoyed the Zuma games and Luxor games in the past

Bird Pirates is the sequel to the puzzle game released a few years ago called Birds On A Wire. This game basically follows the same trends as the first, but everything from the graphics, to the sound and to the actual playability has been revamped enough for this game to stand alone as an entirely new entity.

I compare this game to other arcade games like Zuma and Luxor is the fact that the basic concept

is to shoot matching colored balls into a snake like structure of balls to eliminate them. The thing i really enjoyed about this game though which is different from the others is that in this instance the balls are actually small birds with pirate hats and eye patches and you actually fire them toward the target in a bit of catapult style.

There’s some pretty cool graphical effects for a casual puzzle game with the little ...

      • pirate birds looking sharp and clear and the occasional shot of fireworks or other explosions that really brighten up your screen. I also like the way that some of the barrels in some of the levels looked the ones from the Donkey Kong Country games. Sure they didn’t shoot things out of them in Bird Pirates but it was just nice to be ever so slightly reminded of a game that i loved so much years
        ago.

Playability wise there isn’t really a whole of lot of different things happening, but there is the occasional mini game here and there that you play to gain extra lives, which trust me, you will need later on in the game as the last four or five levels really are frustratingly hard.

A good value action puzzle game that i am happy to recommend to anybody that has enjoyed the Zuma games and Luxor games in the past.
