If you’re in the mood for some mindless scares, the recently released “Dead Silence” might be a good choice for you. I, however, find it too gory and frightening, and having no
deeper message than “Boo!!” is, for me, a big turn-off.
The story is about a dead ventriloquist (performer who makes wooden dummies speak) and her collection of dolls. The woman had murdered ...
a boy, for which she was killed by the angry mob; she was buried with her collection of dolls, but the dolls come back, possessed with the dead woman’s spirit and thirsty
for vengeance. Like I said, the movie is gruesome and frightening; blood, corpses with cut out tongues, nasty-looking dolls, and the ghoulish old woman who jumps out at you when you least expect it. Brr!
