  • Problem with these is that they harbour germs and anything else that cares to cling to them, so effectively they're a waste of time
  • The Duck come in 2 fragrances, lime zest and I think the other one is called ocean breeze
  • I prefer the lime zest, it gives a wonderful fresh smell as you walk into the bathroom
  • The average cost at just under £4 is quite expensive compared to other brands, but because there is no waste, it is well worth the money

I have tried all sorts of toilet cleaners and fresheners over the years. I have tried the ones you just squirt under the rim and down the toilet, both cheap and expensive all just to be flushed away and not very effective. I have tried the blocks that you put in the cistern that clogs it up and stains your hands and anything else it touches, bright blue or green as the case may be.

I have tried the rim-block, you know the ones. You hang them on the side of the toilet pan and each time you flush, it sends a frothy swirl of water down the pan. Problem with these is that they harbour germs and anything else that cares to

cling to them, so effectively they’re a waste of time. But finally I have found something that works, doesn’t harbour germs or any other nasties, smells great and doesn’t make any mess.

Johnson Duck Fresh Discs Cageless Rimblock comes in a great little 36ml dispenser that can be stored without being noticed, behind the loo or in a bathroom cupboard. The dispenser consists of a holder full of gel, a handle and a button and a removable cap. You just align the large button on the holder with the holes on the handle, insert until the button clicks together in the first hole, remove the cap, place the clear end of the gel holder on the inside of the toilet pan where the water will ...

      • flow when flushed. Press and hold the button whilst pushing the dispenser against bowl until button clicks into next hole. This leaves just the right amount of gel on the side of the pan.

A full dispenser lasts for up to 600 flushes, there are 6 toilet gel discs per dispenser and each disc lasts approximately 1 week, depending on usage. The Duck come in 2 fragrances, lime zest and I think the other one is called ocean breeze. I prefer the lime zest, it gives a wonderful fresh smell as you walk into the bathroom.

It is advisable to keep the dispenser out of the reach of children as they would probably find it quite attractive to play with. Also it is suitable

for septic tanks for those of you in the United Kingdom that may be off of the mains sewers.

I think Johnson a family company has come up trumps with the Johnson Duck Fresh Discs Cageless Rimblock. It is neat, clean, economical, with no waste, it smells great and lasts for up to six weeks. The average cost at just under £4 is quite expensive compared to other brands, but because there is no waste, it is well worth the money. I’ve managed to buy mine for £2 so it pays to shop around. Even at £4 the cost per day works out at 9.5 pence, which I think is brilliant for a fresh smelling and clean loo. Well done Johnson for producing this great product.
