  • I think the last time I took pictures with the Olympus was in doors using the flash, and I was only able to produce 15-20 pictures before the batteries went completely dead
  • You could be standing on the sun and I don't think it would emit enough light for this camera's production value

As far as 6 megapixel digital camera’s go this is the epitome of a no frills point and shoot. For $145.00 the FE-170 is barely up to standard with my LG Verizon phone picture quality. And that is akin to a kid coloring a picture on notebook paper with crayons. The video produces no sound as there is no built in microphone for the camera which is a huge downside. What, did Olympus revert back to the 1920’s

silent film genre when they manufactured this thing? I’m almost surprised the lens isn’t made out of Plexiglas!

The camera takes two AA batteries and it sucks the juice out of them in no time. Even though you can turn the flash off, if you have to use it there is a huge drain on the battery life. I think the last time I took pictures with the Olympus was in doors using the flash, and I was ...

Another complaint I have is the picture quality tints yellow and is very grainy when there is not enough light for the shot. I realize enough illumination is a key factor in taking pictures, however this camera is just not powerful enough in it aperture range to produce an decent quality photograph. You could be standing on the sun and I don’t think it would emit

enough light for this camera’s production value.

One positive note is I do like the way the 2.5 LCD viewfinder screen menu is laid out. Easy to operate even without any instructions. Very user friendly, but I still think I could take a better quality photograph with a cardboard box! My 4 year old nephew might enjoy this camera, even if I think he could draw better, more colorful vivid pictures with a magic marker on the dinning room wall!
