I’ve played this game for more than a year untill now and I thought to start my series of reviews with this one.
EREPUBLIK is basically a browser MMORPG, but due to its large variety of features, it can be described as a strategy/political/social simulator.
Based on its idea, some other browser games emerged, and I’ll probably review them aswell, but some other time.
In eRepublik you take control of a citizen. Some can consider this pretty lame, no armies to control, no interactive graphics. But true Role-players cannot omit the potential of this game.
At first your citizen can only work in a company, train to be fit for when he’ll fight for his country and read local newspapers. As he advances in levels, some options are unlocked, such as writing your own
articles, create a company or candidate for political positions. When you have unlocked all the game’s features it means you have played enough for this game to interest you. If not, it means this game doesn’t interest you and you perhaps already started playing something else.
The game has 4 modules: economic, media, politic and military. You can be either a company manager, a succesful writter/journalist, Party President, Congressman or even your country President or a soldier/commander of armies. Of course you can try all of them at the same time, but it’s pretty hard to have succes in all of them.
There are two types of players in this game: the ‘3-clickers’, ones that only enter the game daily to do the daily chores and the ‘irc-ers’.
