A common sniff of mythical Opium, which surrounds my fellow at work Diana in graciously abundant clouds, makes me smile. Who could explain why such a contradictory scent reins in beauty realm on basis of simple love it or hate it rule? In accordance with my colleague, this is more than just a n ordinary fragrance; when it was launched over 30 years ago, its provocative name stirred a lot of fuss and uproar; attracted attention worked better than any other marketing campaign and turned notorious label into generally accepted identity. Not

only a woman, wearing icon of perfumes proved her timeless elegance, she was glamorous exactly in a way the rest of the world went mad.

Even I, sitting in adjacent room, can easily get lost in one of most powerful allures, bursting uncontrollably of the resin it is named after. Exceptionally kaleidoscopic combination opens up with West Indian bay, bergamot, cloves, citruses, coriander, jasmine, mandarin orange, plum and pepper. What I modestly consider to be enough and to spare for entire multicolored complexion, is only the beginning, which merges with slightly less ...

      • exorbitant middle part. Awakening mix of carnation, cinnamon, lily of the valley, orris root, peach, patchouli, rose and sandalwood tend to dry down, sinking gradually in curiously involving base. On the list of extraordinary completion are further numerous wonderful substances, beginning with amber, benzoin, cedar, coconut, passing through labdanum, incense, myrrh, musk, opoponax, and finally reaching vanilla and vetiver, puling the last curtain of tremendously dramatic opera.

My working neighbor claims one of the most important issues, related to sacrosanct fragrance is how to wear it. At first, she said,

to forget the regular pulse points, and to start at the tops of forearms, on neck, on button-down, in hair that are perfect for diffusing, and finally the shoulders of the top, shirt, suit. Back in time, Opium was nominated upon its excesses like irresistibly addictive, sensual and dangerously beguiling. Yet , even now it is a stunner; its brilliant colored, uplifting presence stirs attention and fights off dulling tediousness. Indeed, it is very strong, powerful perfume, strikingly changing when mixed with natural chemistry of the skin, thus worth to experiment!
