  • Crystal World calls this piece Whiskers, but I think that is confusing, because it sounds like they are referring to a cat
  • I am glad that Crystal World has not retired this piece yet, because I know that rabbit lovers will love it
  • I like the fact that the rabbit is clear crystal, and then we just get little bursts of bright color with the beautiful orange carrot and the green leaves
  • That is a lot of money, and I seriously doubt that I paid that much for it when I bought it years ago

Crystal World calls this piece “Whiskers,” but I think that is confusing, because it sounds like they are referring to a cat. Actually, they are referring to a rabbit that has long whiskers. I fell in love with this piece right away, because it is adorable. The cute pieces are always the ones that get my attention. I am glad that Crystal World has not retired this piece yet, because I know that rabbit lovers will love it. It is one of those pieces that makes you want to say, “Awww…”

In this piece, we see a clear crystal rabbit (an inch and three-quarters tall) that is sitting down, and he is holding a bright orange carrot in his lap. The carrot even comes complete with green crystal leaves. The rabbit has

a pale pink nose and black crescent-shaped slits for eyes, and his eyes look like they are half open. The eyes make me laugh, because he almost looks like he is smiling. I guess he is happy, because he has his dinner in his lap. His paws are resting on the carrot, as though he wants to make sure that no one will take it away from him. His whiskers are slightly oversized, which is another amusing feature of this piece. His ears are standing straight up, as though he is listening to make sure that no one is following him in the hopes of stealing his carrot!

So as you see, you could make up your own story to explain what you see in this piece, and that’s what is so ...

      • entertaining about this figurine. I like the fact that the rabbit is clear crystal, and then we just get little bursts of bright color with the beautiful orange carrot and the green leaves. Crystal World even thought to give the rabbit a sweet pink nose, but it is a quiet pink shade, so as not to take any attention away from the vibrant orange carrot. After all, the carrot is the center of attention here, because the rabbit is holding and protecting it so dearly in his lap. By the same token, I am glad that Crystal World did not make his eyes red. That REALLY would have taken our attention away from the carrot, and I think it would have looked creepy. Black is a good neutral color for eyes
in animal figurines. Besides, we don’t see very much of his eyes anyway, because he looks like he is squinting.

Obviously this would make a wonderful present during the Easter season. It would be an attractive decorative piece to put on a mantel or somewhere else in your home during Easter time. But I have it in a small display case in my bedroom all year long. I think it is too cute to keep out just for Easter and then put away in a drawer. This costs $69 on the Crystal World website. That is a lot of money, and I seriously doubt that I paid that much for it when I bought it years ago. Still, the upside is that this figurine contains so many adorable details that it is hard to resist!
