  • This product made it more convenient and just like me I prefer mayonnaise and tuna combined
  • My only objection is that they did not use low calorie mayonnaise to compliment their marketing campaign that tuna is the best food to be lean

Century Tuna is the leading tuna canned goods in the Philippines. It has manufactured so many variety of tuna products. Its main marketing discourse is that it is the perfect alternative for loosing weight. Its commercials features male and female models with perfect bodies. In one of its canned variety, it created Century Tuna Mayo Spread. This food is also placed in the same can like the previous Century Tuna products.

However, unlike the previous varieties, this is basically a spread rather than a viand. The product has mayonnaise and combined with flakes of tuna.

The spread is a typical variety of tuna products which diet-conscious often have in their mind when they want to ditch rice and instead replace it with wheat bread. This product made it more convenient and just like me I prefer mayonnaise and tuna combined. This is what ...

      • the product is all about. But the evaluation should be on the taste and the calorie contents especially that the marketing appeal is towards healthy eating, does this food have lesser calories albeit it used mayonnaise?

First, the taste. The tuna itself is tender, soft, and good. It is like any other Century Tuna products. I never questioned the quality of the tuna because it was all right. The taste in itself

was also good. I do not like too salty nor bland sandwich spread. This was just right on the taste. My only objection is that they did not use low calorie mayonnaise to compliment their marketing campaign that tuna is the best food to be lean. Mayonnaise has lots of calories and there was no indication what kind of mayonnaise was used. I hope they could have labeled the product accurately and correctly.
