  • In my opinion, Fisherman's Friend is my most trusted brand of throat lozenges
  • I feel that the original works the best, but leaves a bad taste in my mouth, that's why I usually go with the Cherry flavored Fisherman's Friend lozenges
  • I enjoy the cooling sensation that these lozenges give off and love the taste of the Cherry so much that they are more like a candy than medicine to me

In my opinion, Fisherman’s Friend is my most trusted brand of throat lozenges. I’ve tried others, but they don’t compare to Fisherman’s Friend.

When ever I get a sore throat, the first lozenge that comes to mind is Fisherman’s Friend.

I find that it offers great relief of my sore throat and helps in easing any burning feeling I have when I get a cold.

It’s also great in clearing things up

so that I can breathe a little better.

Fisherman’s Friend lozenges have been around for a long time, and that’s because they work.

I feel that the original works the best, but leaves a bad taste in my mouth, that’s why I usually go with the Cherry flavored Fisherman’s Friend lozenges.

The Cherry tastes great and is still very effective in helping a sore throat.

      There is a ...

      • good variety of flavors, but not all are available in Canada.

I usually buy a pack of Fisherman’s Friend lozenges once a month and I make sure I always have some at home in case I feel a sore throat coming on.

I enjoy the cooling sensation that these lozenges give off and love the taste of the Cherry so much that they are more like a candy than medicine to me.

I’ve been using Fisherman’s Friend lozenges since I was a kid and I will continue to use them as long as they are around.

The only thing that I would ask of Fisherman’s Friend would be to create a flavor that offered a numbing sensation.

Other than that, keep up the good work Fisherman’s Friend.

Like I said, you’re the first thing that comes to mind when I get a sore throat.

re : In my opinion, Fisherman’s Friend is my most trusted brand of throat lozenges
I regret to inform, you have been misled unfortunately, you are inadvertently misleading others with this unsubstantiated "opinion." If "Fisherman’s Friend" is your "most trusted brand of throat lozenges," then you haven’t been pointed to in the right direction nor have you been advised by a knowledgeable health coach even more simply put, you’re not reading your ingredients list right before your eyes My point of reference: Says Wiki: Ingredients. Original Extra Strong lozenges contain: SUGAR, licorice EXTRACT, menthol, eucalyptus oil, DEXTRIN, TRAGACANTH, capsicum tincture.

First note, that any first ingredient listed, and yes, order of ingredients is pertinent to this discussion, whereas the products highest amount ingredient, is listed first, which in this case is: SUGAR No wonder you liken them to a`candy’ in your review, because essentially, that’s what they are

Next, licorice EXTRACT, menthol, eucalyptus oil, come from what origin? With so many essential oils, of varying grades, we have no idea what grade they are derived from. Are they Seed to Seal beyond organic? Are they therapeutic grade? Or, are they ingredients derived from varied brokers with fillers or solvents to extend crops, that damage the quality of the oils? What is their origin and measurement of testing? I’d not trust ANY company’s integrity who did not disclose the answers to these questions, nor who STARTED their products ingredient list with SUGAR

DEXTRIN. Why on earth, would you choose to ingest DEXTRIN? Wiki states: It’s a polymer

Yellow dextrins are used as water-soluble glues[5] in remoistable envelope adhesives and paper tubes, in the mining industry as additives in froth flotation, in the foundry industry as green strength additives in sand casting, as printing thickener for batik resist dyeing, and as binders in gouache paint and also in the leather industry.

    White dextrins are used as:
a crispness enhancer for food processing, in food batters, coatings, and glazes, (INS number 1400)
a textile finishing and coating agent to increase weight and stiffness of textile fabrics
a thickening and binding agent in pharmaceuticals and paper coatings
a pyrotechnic binder and fuel this is added to fireworks and sparklers, allowing them to solidify as pellets or "stars"
a stabilizing agent for certain explosive metal azides, particularly Lead(II) azide
Sadly, Dextrins are found in MANY Processed "FOODs"

Tragacanth is another gum/filler, which is also used as an adhesive, The gum is used in tanned leatherworking as an edge slicking and burnishing compound, and is occasionally used as a stiffener in textiles on leather finishing Oh how yummy? I’m a vocalist. My throat is PRECIOUS to me. Keep this gummy product FAR from my vocal chords

Tincture of Capsicum - aka ORGANIC Cayenne is okay for warming, cleansing, and for supporting digestion, but these are not organic, so again, we don’t know the origin or practicum of how the herb was obtained. Furthermore, Isn’t the primary directive in seeking throat lozenges to soothe throats support our health?

Because you’re learning so much today, I’ll next kindly ask you to BOLDLY LOOK at ALL throat lozenges on the market Go ahead BE enlightened empowered Read the words. Note how many terrible ingredients exist across the board. You may also note, High Fructose corn syrup is another usual standard in their 1st ingredient lists Yes, MORE Sugar BLUES It’s quite sad really, when ill people are trying believing they’re doing the right thing to get better, support their health, but who ultimately, are only further compromising their immune systems : (

Well of course you liken the taste of these lozenges to "candy," because it’s 1 ingredient is SUGAR, so essentially, it IS candy, vs. medicinal Please see my full share on this topic It saddens me that so many are fooled by misleading marketing I’d be honored to help guide you with another choice, which you’ll not only find delicious–(minus the sugar ) but wonderfully effective, actually supportive of your over all immune system
