I purchased these headphones on Black Friday in 2010, looking for a decent upgrade for my stock iPod earbuds. I’ll be reviewing all aspects of these in-ear headphones for you.

First of all, the earbuds came in plastic packaging, like what you’d expect for something made in China. It wasn’t the most attractive or the most attractive casing, but what you’re paying for are the earphones themselves. These come with a travel pouch and three sets of replacement

tips that you can easily interchange with the ones already provided to get the best fit. They also change the character of the sound and provide more or less isolation.

The earphones themselves are metal and look fairly durable. The y-split,where the wires split to go to each ear, is reinforced with hard plastic. The headphone jack itself is reinforced with hard plastic too and seems to provide good protection. On the other hand, the wire looks very plastic and low quality. Though I don’t think these are the highest quality, the M-9 seems to be pretty durable.

Of course, the most important thing to headphones is the performance. In terms of comfort and fit, these are definitely designed to be in-ear. If you don’t like sticking things into your ear canals, you’d probably want to stay away. It took me several days to get used to it. It now feels pretty comfortable putting them in.

After you put them in, the M-9s are very impressive. They seal sound off really well. They’re better at noise reduction than the noise cancelling Bose headphones I have tried. When you have music playing, it is impossible to hear the outside world. Playing music from these is amazing. The bass is full bodied and hard hitting without overwhelming the rest of the range. Midrange frequencies are good and highs are pretty pronounced. I did not expect
such good performance out of these.

In conclusion, I would rate these as a 9. They are very good for the money. I paid $15 for these, but they go for $20 normally on Amazon. Though the in-ear fit needs some getting used to, they make amazing music. Bass lovers and listeners of hip hop, electronic, and rock music will be especially impressed. I would no hesitate recommending these.

Describing the product doesn’t make a good review Nothing much about sound quality.
Is bass strong? Mid clear?
