  • Hotel Diva caught our attention since they advertise themselves as a personality hotel meaning that they have a funky interior and other interesting details
  • It definitely had some sing of style in it (crazy curtain with a photograph of half-naked woman on it, funky bed shits), however the high-tech makes the room look lifeless and cosmic-cold

My boyfriend and I live in Monterey and we just wanted to spend one night in San Francisco to see the opera and have some drinks. We are both young, energetic people and were really looking for something original and close to downtown. Hotel Diva caught our attention since they advertise themselves as a “personality” hotel meaning that they have a funky interior and other interesting details. We were very excited to stay there. It’s just a few block from the union Square (the center of everything) and 20

minutes from the opera house. So, we booked it with confidence.

However, our exceptions were not met. It was freezing outside, but it was also cold in a hallway. Both receptionists were wearing outerwear for that reason and it didn’t feel cozy at all. Receptionists were young men looking like valet parking guys. Polite, but rather aloof.

Our room was reflecting the first impression precisely. It definitely had some sing of style in it (crazy curtain with a photograph of half-naked woman on it, funky bed shits), however the high-tech ...

      • makes the room look lifeless and cosmic-cold. Metal decoration around the bed and black and grey colors do not construct a positive picture. The sink was not in a bathroom, but inside the room. Behind the crazy curtain we found a concrete wall.

We didn’t care much since we were staying there only one night and choose the place mostly for sleeping. Otherwise, I wouldn’t like to stay there. Feels like a hospital - metallic, empty and clean.

The hotel is tine - so it doesn’t have any extra

facilities such as a restaurant, swimming pool and so on. It does have a computer center, but you can not get in simply using your room key - instead you have to ask for the key downstairs, at receptionist.

Hotel Diva’s website is done very nicely and that’s what caught us. However, the front picture of glass room which looks kind of like a fancy bathroom is NOT what you have in your room! It’s a hallway.

Overall, I’d rather stay somewhere else. It’s not cheap also. Not at all.
