  • It has a whole lot of songs that I really love and this is when I get a bit emotional about someone really showing their true talent, giving me that feeling of satisfaction in buying the album and I feel as I got every cent's worth of my money

It has been quite a while since a singer has released an album with so many singles that I really, really like with the last such albums going back to Tamia’s self titled album, Puff Johnson’s ‘Miracle’ and Anita Baker’s ‘Caught up in a Rapture’.

Alicia Key’s latest offering, ‘The Elements of Freedom’ comes very close to the ones I mentioned above as it has an insane number of hit songs that I really, really love. It is not quite like the three I mentioned above as those are albums

I just pop in and let them play from start to finish, really enjoying each song and singing every single word, but I would put ‘The Elements of Freedom’ in the class of Deborah Cox’s self titled album released back in 1995. It has a whole lot of songs that I really love and this is when I get a bit emotional about someone really showing their true talent, giving me that feeling of satisfaction in buying the album and I feel as I got every cent’s worth of ...

      • my money.

What caused me to ultimately go and actually buy Alicia’s ‘Elements of Freedom’ album was hearing her singles on various radio stations, starting with both versions of ‘Empire State of Mind’, one with Jay-Z. As time went by I would catch music videos and more radio singles off of Alicia Key’s album, which made me yearn for more. Songs like ‘Doesn’t Mean Anything’, and ‘Put it in a Love Song’ really captivated me with their upbeat delivery in which the artist’s natural singing voice was displayed but one

or two tracks would really take me to another place when I heard them. Two such songs in particular made for the deciding factors in me ultimately going out to buy the album and those are ‘Un-thinkabel’ as well as ‘Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart’. These are my favorite two track of the entire album, in no particular order but there are at least four more songs that I really like off the album, making it a good buy that I am proud to have in my ever growing music collection.
