      I have been trying to curb my food consumption as part of my New Year’s resolution list, and I don’t do well with prescription appetite suppressants, so I thought I would try hoodia. I’ve heard rave reviews from friends, but never felt brave enough to try it. After a little investigating on its safety, I felt it was ok to give it a shot, so I purchased the product and used it for a few weeks. I decided on a less expensive brand at first, because I was not convinced that it would really help me, so I did not want to pay a huge price and just end up throwing the contents out or giving them away.

      The Source Naturals brand is one I have used before and I felt pretty good about it.


      The one main concern I had about the product was whether it would make me nauseous. I had heard a few people say that it made them a little queasy, and I tend to have a sensitive stomach when it comes to supplements and medicines.

      (I can handle rich foods, just not rich meds!) Because I was eating less overall in an attempt to lose some weight, I knew the impact on my stomach would be even more than usual. I took the first dose after a meal, just to see how it would affect me, and I only took half the recommended dose. I didn’t seem to have any problems with it, but I did not notice any effects on my appetite.

        Fortunately, I had no problems with that either, so after that I was pretty convinced that I was going to be ok with the product. I went to the full dose that night and remained on it the entire time I took the hoodia. I had no stomach upset at all.

        I hoped for some actual evidence that it was working to turn up soon, but honestly, I did not experience any decrease in my appetite that I could tell. After about three weeks, I decided it was a wasted effort and stopped taking the hoodia. I wondered if it was the brand, so I gave what was left to my friend who used hoodia and asked her to try and see

        if they worked for her.

        She reported a week later that they worked just as well as her usual brand, so I guess it’s just me! For whatever reason, hoodia just doesn’t work for me. I am still on that great quest to find something that does. As far as recommending the product, I see no reason not to.

        I do believe that it works for some people, just not everyone. I would not want anyone to avoid using it based on my review, so if you need something to control appetite and you’d rather use a natural product, give it a shot. It’s not going to hurt to try, that’s the only way to know if you are one of those people who it works for, or if you’re like me.
