After many years of pet ownership and caring for some very interesting creatures, I may have finally found my perfect pet.

“Chiquita” was only 3 weeks old when she escaped the neighbours chicken sheds and made her way to my front door. With barely any feathures it is amazing that she not only survived a night in the cold, managed to not get eaten by anything but then to make her way to my house. After

such an impressive adventure Chiquita became a family pet.

She lives in my house, uses kitty litter and lounges around the house like any cat or dog would do. Chiquita has a thing for water, she has her own foating device for our pool to keep her safe, and when she doesn’t have access to this the dogs water bowl seems to make the perfect swimming hole. The perfect bug zapper, she keeps the bugs out ...

      • of the house and in her stomache, not only are the bugs kept out of the house but also limited in the garden. Oh yes and did I mention that outside she id a walking fertiliser machine.

As affectionate as any other house hold pet she follows me every where and oves nothing more then to sit with me and have a cuddle. Deciding that she is a business chicken she is always around to assist

with the computer and the telephone.

A very affordable pet, needing very little in the way of feed or veterinary assistance. Her only flaw is that she doesn’t like the cat and will attack her without warning (not that I mind I’m sure it is pay back for all the grief the cat gave her when she was little).

So there you have it a fantastic pet and a valued member of my family, what a chicken.
