Our vet at Tufts prescribed Royal Canin Renal LP for my diabetic cat. I noticed that corn flour and corn starch are in the list of ingredients. And, this is a low protein diet. Is this food good for him ?
follow
Corn Flour starch contains very high amount of carbohydrates which can lead to increased blood glucose level. Obviously, it is not good for diabetic people or pet. Generally, the effect of high carbohydrates level is mitigated with proper amount of protein. This product is a low product diet.
You can give it to your pet only when you are giving protein supplement simultaneously. Otherwise, you should avoid it.
