This is a rather interesting, fresh look at the story of King Arthur. Most of us have probably heard the legends: Arthur, Lancelot, the Round Table, the Excalibur sword stuck in the stone, Merlin the wizard.

This movie contains all those elements, but, rather than just retelling the legend, it focuses on the true story behind it.

Who was Arthur? And who were his knights? How was he established as King?

I don’t know how true the facts are, but it is a good story.

A bit gory perhaps, with all the bloody sword battles, but interesting to watch nevertheless.

Clive Owen is very fitting as Arthur, a warrior and the leader of 12 ...

      • Sarmatian knights temporarily in service to the Romans.

As the Roman empire collapses, Rome chooses to give up Britain and withdraw its army.

When that happens, new invaders come in, and Arthur and his men stand up to defend their land.

Several of them lay down their lives for it.

Once again, Hollywood couldn’t do without a

        sexual scene.

Keira Knightley plays Guinevere, a young woman Arthur saves from torturers; the two fall in love, and of course Hollywood thinks that we just *have to* see them sexing.

Fortunately, that\’s not all Guinevere is for in the movie, she also proves to be very good with a sword and a bow.

I rate this film 7 out of 10.
