Delhi Palace: Cuisine of India in Flagstaff, AZ

I have to admit that I was very skeptical about having authentic Indian food in the hippy, college town of Flagstaff, Arizona. But I was so impressed by the wonderful service and lunch buffet at Delhi Palace: Cuisine of India that I went back the next day to have dinner.

All the food I tried was very surprisingly delicious. The all you can eat lunch buffet is only

$8.95 and well worth it. The lentils were seasoned and perfectly cooked. The potato dish was exquisite. The sweet Indian style carrot cake and rice pudding were my favorites.

The dinner was even better than the lunch. Me and my family ordered 2 “complete dinners” (the non-vegetarian and tandoori dinners) and shared it between 3 people. There was plenty of food and left-overs. I don’t know what half the food items were called but they ...

      • were all delicious. The portions of chicken were huge pieces, and the vegetable curries were perfect with the basmati rice. Also the mango juice was ideal with the meal.

If you decide to try the restaurant out, don’t worry about the food being spicy. The buffet is extremely mild, and you can order the dinners to suite your spice or no-spice preference. There are also plenty of vegetarian dishes for any non-meat eaters.

        If you

were wondering or you are hungry and close to Flagstaff the address is 2700 S. Woodlands Village Blvd. Suite 640 (right next to the Walmart Shopping Center). Their phone number is 928-556-0019 and website is www.cuisineofindia-az.com/. There is also supposedly another Delhi Palace: Cuisine of India in Sedona, Arizona if you can’t get to Flagstaff. If it is owned by the same people and has the same food than it is probably also wonderful.

        Rank: 98/100
