  • I mean, I couldn’t think of any interesting story that is related to making it rain food
  • Flint invented things like the Remote Controlled TV (which sprouted out legs and ran away from their home), the Hair Un-Balder (which grew out hair too much), the Monkey Language Translator (which I think was a really good invention, it’s just that Steve the Monkey made the invention scary to say the least), the Flying Car (which didn’t fly and ended up falling in water), and the Rat Birds (which were gross and scary and scared a lot of people)
  • But a problem arises when too much food was requested that the food kept on mutating till it became larger in serving
  • I have enjoyed watching this movie through the end and everything was so fresh, quick-witted, humorous, and just downright wonderful

I never saw the trailer for Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. I only saw it’s poster on the cinema hall at the mall. So I was a bit apprehensive about watching it. I mean, I couldn’t think of any interesting story that is related to making it rain food. It just sounds so silly. But when my boyfriend and I were finally able to watch the film, I should have known that my apprehensions were just for nothing. Up till the end, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs was pure love, laugh, and uniqueness.

The story starts out when Flint Lockwood, the protagonist of the story, was introduced as a young and smart little boy who likes experimenting and building strange inventions, the first of which was called Spary-On shoes in the of young Flint to provide a solution to untied shoe laces. His invention wasn’t as well liked as he thought it would be so young

Flint went home down and broken hearted. His mom, of course, came to the rescue by giving him an advice which made him more confident about his talent.

And so, a string of inventions came one by one, each failing to be a success. Flint invented things like the Remote Controlled TV (which sprouted out legs and ran away from their home), the Hair Un-Balder (which grew out hair too much), the Monkey Language Translator (which I think was a really good invention, it’s just that Steve the Monkey made the invention scary to say the least), the Flying Car (which didn’t fly and ended up falling in water), and the Rat Birds (which were gross and scary and scared a lot of people). These inventions made my boyfriend and I laugh because we find it so comical and his inventions seemed so hopeless, besides the fact that it has no point at all.

      But Flint’s latest invention ...

      • is probably his greatest invention ever (which he named Diatonic Super Mutating Dynamic Food Replicator) and aims to help his small town Swallow Falls. It turns water into food. Water goes on top of the machine and the food comes out of the machine below it. He tried testing it in his lab (which looks like this big water tank) but failed to have it work successfully because it requires a lot of power. After a short series of events, he finally has enough power for the machine but it zoomed off like a rocket and went into the skies. And through the course of this event, Flint made another blunder and disaster in their little town which earned him more ire from his fellow neighbors and earned him another disappointment from his father.

The main event of the film finally happened when out of the blue, it started raining burgers and Flint finally felt that he was

successful. It finally made Swallow Falls be recognized, the economy of their small town boomed, and food never ran out.

But a problem arises when too much food was requested that the food kept on mutating till it became larger in serving. Food became too large that it posed a threat to the village and everyone had to be evacuated and it was up to Flint to stop his invention before it drops more gigantic food across the world.

I have enjoyed watching this movie through the end and everything was so fresh, quick-witted, humorous, and just downright wonderful. There are so many lovable characters. There’s Sam Sparks, the witty and lovely female weather girl who became Flint’s love interest, the Mayor who caused more mayhem, Baby Brent and his weird personality, and much more. It’s a definite good movie to watch with the kids and the family and it’s really a great joy to watch till the end.
