Being a huge Disney fan, I loved the gift my mother gave my son for his birthday. My son has yet to go to any Disney parks. At least until this coming Christmas. The gift was the Disneyland Sing Along Songs: It’s a Small World DVD. My son had only seen Mickey and friends on Mickey’s Clubhouse, so he was glued to the TV for the 30 minutes video. And it in way, it was getting him ready to see the Mouse, live and in person when we go for Christmas day.

Each song has a theme with different characters featuring each one. Whistle While You Work is sang by Mickey and friends as they get ready to open the

park. Step in Time is sang as the parks fills up. Walking Down Main Street USA is sang as a show on Main Street between the castle and the train station. Following the Leader has children following Donald Duck around. The Great Outdoors is sang by the Country Bears as they explore Tom Sawyer’s Island. Zip-Dee-Do-Dah is played Roger Rabbit takes children on roller coasters. Pooh Bear sings a song about always being hungry for something sweet. It’s a Small World is sang as Fantasyland characters like Peter Pan and the White Rabbit take children on Small World and other Fantasyland rides. Making Memories is sang as Minnie and Mickey take pictures. Grim Grinning Ghosts is played in front of ...

      • the Disneyland’s Haunted Manion as Disney villains dance with trees, in a scary setting. The Disney Parade song is one of the older parades that used to be here at Disney World as well. It all ends with When You Wish Upon a Star when everyone goes home for the night.

The video itself is 20 years old, made back in 1990, but it still a wonderful video. My son dances to the songs and even has been learning the words as they light up on the screen. He even pulls me over to dance with him. I have noticed the one part he doesn’t seem to like or that he doesn’t understand is the Grim grinning ghost part. I will

not be taking him into that ride just yet and his reaction to this song just confirms it for me. He didn’t like the villains or moving trees right away. After a few times watching it, he’s a little more comfortable, but still looks very confused at that one part. I’m not ready to test his reaction to the Haunted Mansion yet.

And yes, it’s based Disneyland. They didn’t make a Sing Along video like this one for Disney World, but it’s still the same idea. Same characters. Even thou many of the rides displayed in the video have changed since the video was released, it’s a great video to sing, dance, or just sit back and watch with the little ones.
