  • For those of you who played Yellow Version or beyond of the Pokemon game series I don’t think you would find this game to be entertaining enough for you due to the graphics that are on a very low end compared to the graphics of the newer games
  • However, I must add that for its time it had wonderful graphics

This was the launch of the first Pokemon games that were introduced to the U.S. and quickly became one of my favorite games of all time for the GameBoy Color. Being able to put myself in the shoes of a to-be Pokemon master I felt like I could accomplish anything. There’s just an exciting feeling you get when you flick on the power button of the hand-held gaming system because you know there was a world all your own right there for you. You got be your own person, capture and raise your own Pokemon (kind of like pets if you never got have any.) From the beginning of the game you get really excited to start your adventure. You get introduced

into town, talk to the professor and even get your first ever Pokemon to raise and love, and then on your way to become the very best Pokemon master. Unlike newer games of today that require less than twenty hours of game play, this game took me months to complete (this being just beating the Elite Four and not counting the other countless hours it could take to attempt to get all the 151 Pokemon.)

The whole objective of this game is to collect all 8 gym badges and go on to defeat the Elite Four. After you beat the Elite Four you can continue to train your Pokemon and then challenge the Elite Four again, or you can try to capture all ...

      • 151 Pokemon. If you don’t feel like continuing your game you can restart it. If you try to capture all the Pokemon it will require trading. I never got around to trading or in the habit of collecting Pokemon, that was one part of the game I was never interested in. But if you are looking for a extra challenge try to collect and trade all Pokemon you possibly can and fill up that pokedex! For those of you who played Yellow Version or beyond of the Pokemon game series I don’t think you would find this game to be entertaining enough for you due to the graphics that are on a very low end compared to the graphics of the newer games.
However, I must add that for its time it had wonderful graphics.

I find this to be an excellent game for those looking to kill hours and a means of escape from reality. It doesn’t exactly compare to the original Pokemon show (the cartoon they showed on television) but it is very much like it and has all the same Pokemon (the first 151 Pokemon that is.) This game is similar to blue version, in fact its pretty much the same except in red version its in red and in blue version the game is blue. It’s a solo adventure that anyone can enjoy. I fell in love with this game as a kid and up till this day I still love it and play it.
